I think I'm scared of my bed...?

I know that sounds really weird, but I am telling the truth! I think I am scared of my bed. Ever since I had my mate sleep over, he got my bed and I slept in my sister's room in a sleeping bag, I have been unable to sleep in my bed without my sleeping bag as well. I'm not cold at night, but for about three weeks now, I have slept in my sleeping bag under my quilt. I am sleeping in my bed, but not on my sheets or anything. I tried for a couple of nights to sleep without my sleeping bag, but I couldn't sleep properly and in the end gave up and went back to my sleeping bag, where I feel safe and secure...

Does anyone know what might be the problem here??

Not that this relates to anything about this question, but does anybody know if there is a phobia of wearing long sleeves??

  1. Depending how old you are and the experience you have with having guy friends over, you might just be weirded out by the thought of a man having slept in your bed. Your bed is a very intimate place and having him sleep in it might have crossed a mental boundary you didn't even know you had.

Maybe you could try getting all new sheets, or just deeply washing the ones he slept on if you don't have the money to buy new ones?

As for the long sleeve phobia, I suppose anythings possible. There are phobias for all types of things nowadays, but if I heard that someone had that I would think they were just trying to get attention.

  2. Perhaps your irrational fear stems from your belief that your mate was "unclean" and you do not feel comfortable in it now. I'd recommend washing the sheets. If that's not it, try to figure out if something else has changed since your friend was over. Also, fear may not be the emotion you are feeling in your bed, and that might provide more insight into your problem.

  3. well you can try sleeping in the sleeping bag with it open so you might slip out of it in your sleep, but overall i say commitment issues of your bf staying in your bed or something. but you could have a mental problem about it.

and there is a phobia of almost everything

    sorry if i didn't help

  4. try washing the sheets?

  5. wow. try sleeping with someone, so your not scared. no i dont think any one have phobia in wearing long sleever, i mean. what can long sleeve do to you?

  6. I think you should continue to sleep in your bag until you are no longer going through whatever it is in your life that makes you feel unsafe.

In the mean time, anaylize your life, try to identify the factors that make you feel unsafe.

See, sleeping in your bag is a coping mechanism.

Things like that usually mean there is something(s) or someone(s) in your life that you don't fully trust and the bag represents and provides a feeling of seclusion...safety...being hidden or tucked away safe.

If the bag makes you feel comfortable in your slumber, why not sleep in it for now? Focus more on working on fixing those things in your life so that soon you won't NEED to sleep in the bag.

  7. Maybe just change the sheets. I would feel uncomfortable if someone else slept in my bed too.

  8. You might be afraid of the unclean bed and getting a disease. My advice is wash the sheats and the pillow covers.

Phobia of wearing long sleeves?why?do you have one?

If you do you can admit it.There is nothing to be ashamed of.

The only way to conquer your fear is to face it.Gather the courage to wear them. There is no other way and there is no danger.

  9. lol there are phobias of even telephones. Maybe you have an obbsessive compulsive personality disorder? Or a security issue(just asking becaus emy boyfriend is teh same way, and he doesnt like anything that isnt tight)?  The best advice I can give you is to go back to your bed, afterawhile it will go back to being familiar. Best o *****. :)

  10. Get a new mattress or sleep on the floor? Long sleeves?
