I know I have irregular heartbeats and I still drink like 4 redbulls a day. I feel depress if I don't have my daily dose. Do you think I should go to some type of AA or counseling.

  1. I had a similar problem to yours.  I used to be night stock person at a large grocery store chain.  I would drink 12-15 RB a night.  Then on my days off when I didn't need them I would get the shakes and severely depressed.  For instance I even hit my dog for doing his business on the living room floor.  I never did this before.  So I decided to get rid of my dog and try to kick the RB.  It took a while but I finally did it.  I took a gradual approach.  I switched to maybe 15-18 Vaults a night.  Then I went to 12-15 Mountain Dews.  Then I moved to 8-12 cappuccinos.  Now I just drink a few of those small energy drinks from the gas station and some BC powder.

  2. is red bull bad for you

  3. You're not addicted, you're dependent.  There's a difference and it's a lot easier to break a dependence.  When I go off caffeine to give my body a break, the first day or two I have a horrible headache and depression.  I drink one cup of coffee, take some ibuprofen, and it gets better.  By the second or third day I don't need it.

For the psychological aspect, I agree with the person who said substitute green tea or something.  Focus on being healthy and that you're giving a gift to yourself.  It's tough for a few days but you can handle it!

If the withdrawal or the irregular heartbeat goes on longer than that, see your dr.  You don't need AA though.

  4. its the sugar rush, and the caffeine that your addicted to. just don't have them for a few days and, depending on the severity of your bodies dependence, you should be fine.

Sorry that's pretty much the only way you can sort that out, although if you cant go cold turkey then gradually move to 1 a day then drop it. Although it would be easier if you just stopped all together and stopped thinking of them as a treat but just for what they are, unnecessary stimulation.

  5. Here is a great link to information about caffeine addiction:

You should speak with your doctor about your irregular heartbeats and for guidance of how to safely wean yourself off.

    Best of Luck!!

  6. You get it too??? I get the same thing from drinking 'V'. I thought the heartbeat thing lately was just really bad anxiety... but I am addicted to caffeine. I don't know the answer, but I'll watch this space to see if someone can help us both!

  7. Give this a shot.

Most probably you are addicted to the energy rush in red bull.

First start by reducing the number of red bulls from 4 to 3 and instead have a cup of coffee, green tea, juice or even sodas.

Once your body gets used to this slowly try and reduce the number of red bulls by another count and repeat the steps.

I used to be addicted to sodas and later I realized its just in my head.

There were days when I would have 6-7 cups of coffee.

Its all in your head but you body has to work with you.
