Could something happen to me, will I get in trouble with the law? I signed up for something using my email address and uploaded something, but it used the default owners information, not mine. I than got an email saying that they charged $0.00 to my credit card, but I don't have a credit card. Could it have used that person's card? It only showed xxxx-xxxx-xxxx or something like that. Will I get in trouble with the law? Do you think it did use that person's card? What's going to happen to me? I didn't mean to do this!

  1. CHILLAX DUDE, either you did use or you did not use someones credit card. there is no maybe.  next if they said that you were charged $0.00 then that is what they charged. also it is not like you use it everyday ( the card ) do you. take a breath and have a drink. you'll be ok

  2. I think you could possibly go to jail unless you go admit that it was an accident and pay all the money back to the person you owe it to. So just admit your mistake.

  3. Relax Travis,

You are not going to jail...at least for this. Send an e-mail to the company informing them that they may have violated the rights of one of their clients by initiating a charge against an account for which you intended to pay.

Then refuse to make any payment unless or until you are 150% satisfied they corrected or rectified any problems THEY CREATED.

  4. Yes , it is against the law to use somebody elses credit card , you gained acess without permisson ...

    You could face Jail

I would reccomend you to contact police and tell them the incident

  5. First calm down, its ok.

    :)

But if you didnt put in someones info then you should be fine.

Just inform the police of what happened and let them take care of it

  6. To start with, the amount charged was $0 so no harm done so far.

The only way this could have happened is if you were using someone else's account or computer.  Just tell them what happened, that it was unintentional, and that apparently there were no charges.

*Then* get your own account so it doesn't happen again.
