My mom's maiden name is Christiana, and her mom's maiden name was Cleaves on her dad's side. Originally we thought it might be Anne of Cleaves, but then we found out she never had children. Could it be another country's queen, or is there another English Queen I don't know about. HELP!

  1. Cleves, is a city in the north-west of North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany, near the Dutch border and the River Rhine, at  51°47′N, 6°11′E. The dutch spell the name Kleves.

    ------------

Anne of Cleves as you know was married to Henry VIII for a few months when they annulled the marriage based partly on non-consummation. She died childless.

    ------------

So your name is spelled Cleaves which is similar to Cleves and Kleves. Is this your only evidence?

    ------------

By the way, the laws of mathematics say that millions of people would be descended from some royalty. For example, Queen Elizabeth can trace her ancestry back 31 generations to William the Conqueror. But 2^31=2,147,483,648 so she had over 2 billion ancestors 31 generations ago. But the population of England was a fraction of 1% of that number. So actually Queen Elizabeth is descended from a significant fraction of the people who lived in England at that time, and whose line did not die out.

    - In a similar way, William the conqueror has millions of descendents. You might very well be one of them.

  2. elton john, bwahahahahaha

  3. There's probably about 10,000 people in your situation. That being sharing the same surname with a royal.

Boris Johnson is related to King George II...

That just sums it up really.

  4. Since most of the Royalty was one big, dysfunctional family, there is a possibility that if you are related to one, you are related to many. I don't know how many Queens were like Princess Diana and not in the direct line of royalty, but I think most were interrelated.

  5. Have your genealogy done by a professional, perhaps by Burke's Peerage and Gentry or Debrett's,both who specialize in the titled world.

  6. I'm sure the queen is Elton John

  7. every king had a queen there are dozens of them

  8. Anne of Cleves was Henry VIII’s fourth wife. Anne was from the  north German state of Cleves.

    They never had children.

I don't know of any other queen that came from Cleves.

  9. That is VERY un-likey cuz my dad has exactly the same name as someone else.even sir name.we arnt related.
