I had borrowed an audiobook from the library to do my summer reading with. I started this one and put the cassette in my stereo last night. I left it in and went to continue it this morning. and to my surprise, it dosen't work. the heads were not revolving. I couldn't rewind, fast foward, play, or anything. So I put it in another cassette player and it worked the first time. After that, again it wouldn't play again. So I brought it into the car. It works and continued to work, but I can't sit in the car to to my summer reading. So does anyone have any suggestions (besides rewinding te tape)? Thanks

  1. Sometimes older tape gets 'sticky' and I found that tapes that would not play in a portable player will often play better in a car stereo too...

I would find something to wind the cassette manually (sometimes a pen fits nicely in the holes...) to get it beyond the place where it sticks then put the tape on REW all the way through, then FFWD, then REW and FFWD again - you should find that the tape stops sticking after running in through a few times.
