Restore doesn't work. It doesn't give me any alternate dates except for the present day I'm on the computer. I can't get to the internet because the computer doesn't stay on long enough for me to get that far.

  1. If you have Vista, like i do, sometimes what i find is that the updates are not properly installed, or they are just not good with my system.  So what i do when i have the exact same problem (mine restarts like ever 5-8min) is do a system restore.  Start...Accessories...system tools.

    Good luck

  2. scan your computer with anti virus software to remove

a FREE ONE  is AVG just google it

  3. Go to start, all programs,  accessories, DEFRAGMENT,  COOKIES, & RESTORE Computer to an earlier date.  Works this way for me!

  4. get a program like McAfee

  5. Run a virus and spyware scan.  If that does not  correct the problem, try a system restore to a date your computer was running properly.  If all else fails, you may have to re-instll your Windows operating system.  You can also try a linux system.  Liniux is free and comes with a ton of apps.

    Good Luck,

    Ed

  9. Get some antivirus software so you can detect wether you have a virus/trojan/spyware/malware/etc.

    A good one is AVG(http://free.avg.com).

Shutting down could also due to over heating so i would look into that if the antivirus doesnt remove anything.
