I think I have been scammed!?

Have been looking for health Insurance for a couple of days and this morning I got a call from a company called "Good health plan." It was supposed to be a non-profit company and gave me a deal which I couldn't refuse. $119 a month for health coverage and no deductible. It pays 80% and it sounded very real with all the plans they offer.

The lady told me to call 877-446-8700 and that she would also e-mail me plan details. I have looked up the company online and there is no such company and the number appears to be on the black list and scam list on many websites and shows how many people have fell in this trap. I have given her my credit card number and they are going to take out $239.85 on Thursday. What should I do?

  1. Be honest,It will take a while to find the best answer for the your question.give a look at resource here for your reference .http://home-mortgage.online-tips4u.info/...

  2. Yes, you've been scammed.  It's a discount card and you can read about those on my site...

Yes, there's no deductible all right because you pay FOR EVERYTHING.

People have to be more diligent consumers.  FIrst of all stop putting your information into web sites where you have no idea who controls the web site.  Information put in my web site only goes to me, but on other sites that provide no information (and they're all over Yahoo Answers with generic answers and links) gather your information and sell it to 5-10 different sales people.  Some of them are good and some sell 'good health plan.'

Call the number and cancel and call the credit card company to dispute.

Also, on the link above I have the FTC warning on discount plans.

  3. Call the company that issued the card RIGHT NOW!!! The number is usually on the back of the card. Let them know whats going on, that you wish to stop the payment, and that you suspect a scam. The card company can research the issue and when the payment tries to process they'll be able to track it and possibly catch the culprits. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

  4. call the credit card company and put a stop on any charges from Good health plan. Also, tell them the supposed amount of $239.85.

    Bill

  5. Call your credit card company and put a hold on ALL charges. (You won't be able to use the card)  Then phone them back and tell them that you have changed your mind.  When they get nasty tell them that the card you provided is no longer valid, and that they can try to sue you to collect.

You probably won't hear from them again after that.

  6. Yep I agree with the insurance pickle guy.  If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

It amazes me that people put all of their due diligence toward finding the cheapest health insurance possible.  You get what you pay for - so buy reputable health insurance with a well known company.

Find an independent agency that actually markets plans where you can view the quotes on-line like mine:

  7. Contact your credit card company immediately and let them know what you have found. If they're unable to stop the initial charge they will definetly stop any future charges. I would also contact the better business bureau and file a complaint against this company.
