I've had sleep issues for about two months now and yoga and OTC sleeping pills don't help.

  1. If insomnia is your only issue you do not need a psychiatrist, your regular family doctor can prescribe sleeping pills.

  2. If you think that the insomnia may be caused by stress, anxiety, depression, or any other icky feeling, then you should go to a psychiatrist.  If you are just unable to sleep.. and that is the only bad feeling.. nothing else emotional, then your normal family doctor.  You can also get over the counter sleeping pills now, but I wouldn't suggest those.

    Good luck!

  3. if you think you have it and wanted to be medicated go to a psychiatrist.

  4. I usually take bendaryl  my doctor told me taking it wont hurt and it will help me fall asleep

  5. go to a pyschatrist

and tell them everything that is going on

dont leave anything out becasue if you tell

them everything they can give you the right

    medicine to help you out

    goodluck

  6. First of all you should find out WHY you are not sleeping, if you have a worry that is preventing you from sleeping , that is not insomnia it's a problem that needs fixing then you'll be able to sleep. If on the other hand you have low Serotonin levels then that could make your sleeping patterns go haywire, and I would suggest you get some 5HTP 100mg. (it's an all natural product) take one each night, half an hour before sleep, read a book for a little while and you'll surprised how quickly you fall asleep and wake up feeling refreshed.

  7. Go to your family doctor and discuss this matter with them. Insomnia has so many factors and causes, that its going to take a while to find something that works for you. Your insomnia I think can be bettered by something else than medication, though. Try eating healthier, working out regularly, and keeping busy (ie a full day of work). See how that goes. Yoga isnt going to do much for your insomnia, what you need is some cardio like running or something coupled with a full day or work or school. You also might have anxiety or something going on with you that makes it hard to quiet your mind when its time for bed. Try things like this before you get on medication. Im a full believer in the power of exercise to help you with anxiety, mild depression, and sleep problems.
