I think I narrowed down to two carnival ships that are going to the ports that we want to go to has anyone been on the Carnival Liberty or the Carnival Triumph? What are your personal experiences with those ships the good, the bad and the ugly. I want this vacation to be the absolute best we can make it.

  1. The Carnival Liberty is about 9% bigger than the Carnival Triumph.  Basically the Carnival Liberty is a larger version of the Carnival Triumph.

However, there are some differences.  The Triumph was built in 1999.  The Carnival Liberty was built in 2005.  Also, the Carnival Liberty is one of two Carnival ships with a large outdoor TV screen (the Carnival Freedom is the other) ...

  2. Carnival Inspiration. Very low key. As casual or dressy as you want it. Plenty of grade B food. Entertainment was so-so. Your better going with a gang of people and making your own time. Can't bring any booze on board and it's non-smoking except in certain areas.

  3. if you really want the run down on the two Carnival ships I just the place to ask, The Senior Cruise Director of Carnival, he has a blog to just this thing, and for much more. He answers posts about any Carnival ship and can tell you what the Cruise director on each ship is, and what they offer.

  4. honestly, any carnival ship is beautiful, nad the service is great. ive been on 2 cruises (granted they were both on the Carnival Miracle) and they were both amazing experiences. any ship on Carnival is your best bet =)

  5. I went on the Triumph. At a glance it looks nice, however it actually looks pretty worn down. I was surprised. I thought it would have been better. I liked the people that worked there. I liked the set up. We were upgraded to a suite. It was big and nice looking. We went and looked at the room we were suppose to have and it was horrible. So glad we were randomly upgraded. If you don't stay in your room much I guess it doesnt matter. The buffet areas in the Triumph smell funny.

  6. I have been on 6 Carnival cruises and the Triumph has been my favorite ship by far. I havent been on Liberty , yet, so I can tell you anything about it. Triumph was set up very user friendly. We enjoyed watching movies on deck in the evenings. Have fun which ever you chopose

  7. There was just a thread on this topic on the "Carnival" board at CruiseCritic.com [click on "Boards" at the top of the page].

There have been many comments on that board lately that indicate that the Triumph is showing her age.  Read some of the comments by past passengers and see what you think.

You might also be interested in the "Reviews" section.  You can read past passenger comments there, too, as well as reviews from pros.
