I think I have throat cancer, please help.?

Question

I've been having this weird pain on the right side of my throat, maybe about an inch and a half above my collar bone. If I press where the pain is, I can feel a small lump that isn't on the other side of my throat. I can feel it when I talk sometimes and it's really uncomfortable. I'm starting to wonder if I have cancer and it's freaking me out. I went to the hospital today and got my blood taken and I'm making an appointment for an ultra-sound. The doctor thinks it's my thyroid but I don't think it is because my thyroid is not where the pain is. Has this happened to anyone else? Help!
