Thank you so much! I have been told I have had a lot of different things, but I was researching ADD and found that a lot of what it said was right on the mone of things I suffer every day. Most other mental disorders were just one or two things. I am not sure why docs didn't notice this. Other's in my family also have ADD, as children and as adults. Can it be passed down? THANKS AGAIN!

  1. I would do what MONO says.. Sounds about right!! Don't try to deal

with it on your own, it won't work.. Make an appt with a professional in that field.. God Bless You.. :)

  2. Make an appointment to go see a doctor (general practitioner). Then go and tell them exactly what your problems are. Doctors are trained to diagnose all sorts of health problems and will refer you to a psychologist, counsellor, recommend medication, etc.

    Good luck.

    For your other questions:

Don't assume all doctors/psychologists/psychiatrists are equally good. Some are complete idiots, or just inexperienced. Try and find people who you connect with, and who have worked with ADD as well. Don't be afraid to get 2nd or 3rd opinions. Personally, I had to see about 5 different doctors, 4 psychiatrists and numerous psychologists before I got treatment that helped my problems. But there is help available.

Make sure you are completely honest and open, don't hold anything back.

Remember you're not alone or weird! :)

Keep doing more research about your condition , the more you know about it the better the chances of getting better.

Most mental illnesses are still poorly understood, and I don't know what the current research about ADD says, but many conditions come from a variety of causes: genetic (passed down), learned behaviour and specific triggers (eg. drug use, stress).

    Hope you get better.

  3. Have fun and solve your problem with ADD at the same time without taking drugs.  Look at this link:

After you are finished using this type of therapy your mind will work even better than someone who has never had the condition.
