Ok I recently started to get this weird pain in my left jaw everytime i try to open my mouth and chew. It first started like about a week ago. I was at my dentists getting my teeth cleened and then my jaw started to hurt. I read some of the questions and answers from other peoples post and some people have had the problem for years. The pain feels like its pulling something, keeping my mouth shut. Is there anyway i can fix this, will it go away on its own? Im only 13 and i dont want to have this "TMJ" thing for years >_<

  1. If you have TMJ Syndrome one of the things that can be done is to get a special kind of bite guard to help keep from grinding your teeth during the night (one of the classic symptoms with TMJ Syndrome), but this is an example only.

Sometimes, though, the teeth and jaws can be a bit sore after a cleaning (I've had this happen to me before).

I would recommend that you let your parents know what's going on as well so that they can help you keep an eye on the situation.
