I think I saw an enormous spider at Sequoia Nat'l Park...?

Question

I was up in the mountains and I think i saw a huge spider in one of those portable potties. At first I couldn't believe my eyes because this thing was HUUUGE but when I went closer, i could see the legs and the abdomen. the spider was about a foot in diameter. was that really a spider i saw?

might be the 'Tarantula' spider, mostly found in amazonia, very poisonous

A foot is a bit big, as only the largest tarantulas get that big.

Maybe a huntsman spider?  They get very large, with certain species getting 11" in diameter.
