In most cases, yes. I have taken back fish before because they didn't get along. I got a slight refund for my returned fish, not a full one, but something anyway.

Yes most likely. you need to call the store and confirm with them some stores have certain policy's on when or if they will take them back. You should keep them you took on this responsibility, although I have been in your situation and had no choice. some times its better if you don't keep them.

No.  They are not going to put your fish back in with theirs.

Why wouldn't they?  Of course, they'll have to quarantine them, but that shouldn't be a problem.  Anyhow, ask them.
