Literally.

Before I start, if you're going to lecture me, dont even answer this question. I came here for advice and help, not a lecture.

Anyway, I started smoking weed awhile ago. Recently I've quit because its not the same. I noticed I started to zone out, majorly, whenever I got high. Someone would say something to me and I'd be like, "what??" and I wouldn't even remember what they said two seconds ago. Also, I would mix up my words and sound stupid. I know some people will say, "THATS WHAT MARIJUANA DOES!!!" but the thing is, it only started happening recently, and I have no idea why. Weed used to be my favorite thing in the world, but now I just embarrass myself whenever I use it. So, what I'm asking is: does anyone have any idea as to why this happened, what caused it? And, how I could maybe change it?

Thanks to everyone who answers this seriously and helps me out, I appreciate it

  1. The cause is what is referred to as the "residual" effect. The chemical THC, builds up in the neurons, and it only take a couple of hit to get stoned again, and the effect is more intense. They will be flushed from the system over time. You may want to drink a lot of juices, and water they will flush the system more quickly. Or if you choose you could go to a detox facility they have med's to speed up the process, and make you more comfortable. I really don't believe that to be necessary. By the way stay away from alcohol.

  2. Sounds like you've come across some stronger stuff.

No,  you haven't smoked yourself retarded.  I know many very intelligent people who smoke for years, and are still intelligent people.  MJ slows down functions, and the stronger the bud, the slower the mind reacts.

  3. YOUR JUST ******* RETARDED

  4. I've smoked on and off for 15 years.  It used to really help my social anxiety and depression, at least I think it did.

Now I don't do well when I smoke, I feel paranoid, stupid, like my mind is blank.

What I believe is that over time, be it short or long, the effects of THC can and often do change for particular individuals.  Those of us who've become habituated to smoking can find it difficult to "believe" this and walk away, but the sooner you do the better.

The longer you stretch the periods between when you smoke the more active your mind becomes and the clearer your thoughts will be.

  5. "THATS WHAT MARIJUANA DOES!!!"

get some new friends, some friend who dont want to drugs and have s*x all the time...ok?

  6. I'm no health professional, have never smoked a day in my life. But I heard that this kind of thing happens as like... withdrawal symptoms... Update with how long this has been happening. I think a reasonable amount of time might be 4-6 months, gradually fading away. Also, you should seek professional medical help if at all feasible.

  7. When you first start smoking, you feel on top of the world, like nothing can get to you and you're the coolest, funniest person you know.  Then after years of smoking joints with friends and such, you begin to feel paranoid, forgetful and overall suck-ish.  It's just what happens.  Good thing you quit before it really gets bad.  All that brain damage accumulates and makes the brain even more forgetful and you talk a h**l of a lot slower.

  8. I hope u know drugs are for losers right? And Im sticking up my L for u!
