The music club BMG should have went to collections and when it appeared on my credit I made arrangments and took care of it. I had the account when I was younger. Since then two other companies have claimed I also owe them, neither one have appeared on my credit. The last agency had the same amount as BMG and the same account number then when I looked back at the company I paid I realized it was a higher a amount and different number. So, tomorrow I will be mailing the new company a copy of the checks showing I paid. But if I was scammed is there any way I could get my money back?

  1. awww the old pass the ball trick. lol. yep those credit collectors will pass you off right when they think you will pay. or maybe if they think you wont. First write both companies and send copies to both companies of the other letter.

Co. you paid... I paid this in full with money order number....

with photo copies. Please notify ...xyz that this is paid

second company... I recently paid abc company the full amount due on this account with a money order number....

please find enclosed a copy of that payment. Please mark this paid in full. Please contact me only by mail. Please do not call me at work and do NOT call my employer.

If they dont stop, write again, same routine, say you have talked to a credit counselor ... if they dont stop after that, call your state atty general. as far as your credit report, you can contact one of the 3 big credit reporting firms and they will tell you what to send to show you paid.

I find Equifax to be more professional than the others.

And remember you can always contact an attorney. Check out the links to the credit counselors below. Good luck. ma
