  1. There is a lottery office in most states where you can go to redeem your winnings. I believe in most cases they will need to verify the win, and then give you the check. I am not sure if they will take tax before or after, but be prepared for that. Also, they will most likely pay you in annuitized payments rather than a lump sum. This way, you will get more money in the long run, but its over the course of several years in most cases. I just looked it up on the Wisconsin lottery page, and it says you can claim in a lottery office or mail it in. I think I would rather take it in instead of trusting the mail service with something worth that kind of money.

Prizes $600 or greater can be claimed at any Lottery office.

Or mail** the signed ticket and claim form to:

    Prize Payments

    Wisconsin Lottery

    Madison, WI 53774

By law, the ticket is the only valid receipt for prize claims.

  2. Wow! lucky you

somewhere on the back is supposed to be the address you mail it to then just fill it out and mail it

  3. Congrats and make sure you sign the back immediately if you haven't already!!

  4. Read the back of the ticket.

In most states, the ticket says that prizes under $600 can be claimed at any lottery retailer, and prizes above $600 can be claimed in person at _____ (adress).

BTW, the $600 limit is an IRS rule.

You'll have to pay taxes on the $25,000.

  5. Oo thats cool. I think you should read the back of it. I think you have to mail it in when its that much of a winning.

    Congrats!
