Why, the left has compared the Republicans to Hitler for the last 8 years.  Just once I would love for them to rationally explain the comparison and not just shout that Bush is Hitler.  That is so ignorant.

Obama isn't Hitler.

But there is a tiny bit of a comparison to be made.  

The people were blindly following Hitler just like many are blindly following Obama. Just because of dynamic speeches.

The Hitler comparison only serves to illustrate how foolish it is to follow someone just becuase of their dynamic speeches.  In no way do I think Obama would be anywhere near as bad as Hitler!

And for anyone to insinuate otherwise is minimizing the millions sent to gas chambers & mass graves!

Yeah, I used to be one of those people... Bush reminded me of Hitler, just a little bit... and he still does, in some ways... but you know what? I was way off!

If you really look at the situation in Germany in 1933 (when Hitler was elected Chancellor), and the similarities with what's going on in the US today, the comparison is actually much more appropriate with Obama. He is a charismatic young 'populist' and captivating public speaker. Remember his Berlin speech? Hundreds of thousands of people were there. It was awe inspiring!  lol

Additionally, Obama would be taking power in a time of economic distress, just as the renewed cold-war mentality and increasing hostility around the globe will be fueling nationalism and militarism among the American people. With Brzezinski as advisor to the President (most likely in his cabinet), we can be sure there will be lots of lists, and databases, and papers, and domestic surveillance, and checkpoints... and let's not forget about those FEMA camps...

But all of these similarities should be taken with a grain of salt. After all, this isn't 1933, and this sure ain't Germany. The American people are a sleeping beast. Sure, a lot of people might be neutralized, but there are enough people still paying attention out there, I hope, to quickly put a stop to anything as bad as what happened in Germany.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens, huh?

Who knows? Obama might turn out to be a totally boring president, and maybe nothing will happen for a little while longer.

Edit: I almost missed it but you did say coronation... is that what they were really calling it? Or are you just joking? I don't think old George Washington and the guys would be pleased to hear such a word being used for the nomination of a presidential candidate. Only Kings are coronated. It means "crowning." The guys didn't feel too good about monarchy at that time... and they had a distaste for titles of nobility. (Just a side note. . .)

Yes.  But that guy is so boring.  Hitler used facial movements, hand gestures and folded his arms at just the right time.  The crowds simply adored him and ate up everything he said. (He was also big, big, and I mean real big... into that Roman architecture).

Some what accurate, in that there is huge irrational and emotional connection to a false prophet.

Hitler, Stalin, Mao and others of that ilk, were all fascists that play power games with peoples emotions and murdered millions. The only difference is that it's unlikely that Nobama will be involved with the mass murder of any of us. I'm just not so sure that a socialist and pacifist can protect us from our own selfishness and those that would like to see us wiped off the face of the earth.

First off I love that you call it a coronation. Because the Messiah is becoming the all mighty...the biggest difference between Obama and hitler is that Hitler wrote all his own stuff.  Obama is a good reader maybe he should teach pre school.
