i took an admission test today for a university(UP) for filipinos out there, is it really correct minus wrong??

anyways people said it was not ,but i have a slight hearing problem and i heard the proctor said it was and so I left some blank answers cause id rather have no point than be deducted because of guessing..

when i got home today, my mum got angry i felt like a failure (I even paid for the testing fee so that if I would not get in, she has nothing against me)guess i was wrong..

  1. Mom's will always feel, however you shall be patient and try and understand them.Get your ear checked with a good doctor,so that you do not face the similar problem once again.Assure your mom that next time you shall be confident and you won't repeat the same thing .

    Bye and God Bless !

  2. Hey, if you studied hard and the test was just too much, then at least you gave it your best shot.  If you slacked off and just did not pay attention to the test, then you did fail.

If you just look at the raw scores when it comes back and you failed miserably, then I would say that yeah, you are a failure, for that test at least...

  3. Moms get angry with us because they know our potential and they know what we can do. Then when we do silly things and don't hear things right or forget to do certain things they get angry.. Cause they know we can do it..

  4. Well generally I find that most tests don't deduct for wrong answers. It's disappointing to you and disappointing to your mother who I'm sure wanted you to do well for your sake as well, but I'm sure you tried, I don't think you entered the test just to fail on purpose. I think when you do badly on something and feel you could have done better, expressing that sort of sentiment to your mother generally gets that kind of angry 'why didn't you try harder?' reaction (it does for me anyway) but I don't think she would truly feel that you're a failure, rather it's her way of expressing disappointment for your sake.

I recently participated in a voluntary test which tested my Japanese knowledge. It didn't affect my grades but I have issues with hearing too (didn't help that they gave instructions in Japanese) and in a test situation I tend to go blank. I also misinterpreted the instructions and because the test was in sections, spent my time on one grammar section rather than all four sections. Of course I only realised my mistake when there was 5 minutes left. It was multiple choice, I ended up frantically marking spots randomly, leaving the final section blank and feeling like a complete loser. It didn't matter than it supposedly didn't affect my grades, the knowledge that I was sure to be seen as an idiot who didn't know anything and that I could have probably answered some of the questions I ended up randomly guessing made me feel terrible.

You can't change what happened in the end, you can only try to move on. Rather than concentrate on the answers that you left blank, I'm sure that you would have tried your best to answer as many as possible and to do your best with them which counts for more.
