  1. First, don't panic. Second...be careful about things that happen when you are sleeping or half-awake. Most reputable paranormal investigators (myself included) do not put much value on things reported while sleeping because they are unreliable. People report many sleep-related experiences that can be easily explained scientifically.

That being said, if you really think you have a ghost, then face it and maybe do a little investigation. You can try talking to it and using a recording device, also taking pictures. You can try your local library first for information on who owned the house in the past.

Just be careful about overreacting. In my experience, one frightening experience can make people believe that every little thing is paranormal. The imprtant thing is to not panic and try to rationally explain things if they occur.

  2. If you were actually asleep, it could have been a dream. But, if you were just dozing off, or just waking up you could have really seen something. So, ask yourself if you were actually awake or asleep when this happended.

  3. Distrust any suspicious vision you have immediately before, during or immediately after sleep because those times are ripe for hallucination.

  4. well, this is just superstition. Usually. In the dark, you see darker spots because when you are exposed in light, your eyes are at a focus that when you look in the dark, you see darker spots that might be long or short. I have the same problem, as a matter of a fact, it is not a problem. Your eyes focus at a different rate in light than dark.

  5. Try not to be afraid..maybe next time if you see it or feel that its around, try talking to it. Dont be afraid though..because if its a bad one, fear will feed it. I doubt it is bad since it was just sitting there.

Might want to try looking for free property records websites. That might help you find out who lived there before. Or maybe ask how to find out at your local library.

  6. Yep, sure. However, most people refer to them simply as dreams. Usually these dreams are most vivid during REM sleep and can seem very real to the person experiencing them. Sorry to burst your bubble.

See now this is the trouble with reality, it often very boring. However, it is also often said that reality can indeed be stranger than fiction

  7. You were dreaming.  You can dream with your eyes open and also you can dream when you are awake.  Hopefully, not very often.  It is upsetting.  Just think of your brain as a really complicated machine that doesn't all turn off or on all at the same time.

  8. Go to you local recorder of deeds office to start you research on past owners.

  9. Number one-Do you have sleep Apnea(loss of oxygen, due to a health problems). This will cause night time hallucinations. Number two-do you take any kind of sleep-aids? If both to no, then start looking-up info on the internet about your experiences.
