so all summer ive been lying around doing stuff on the computer, and watching TV and thats just about it. this is my 2nd week of school and we had PE and our new teacher loves to see us run so hard we break down, i guess, haha. we had to do two (LONG) laps, then 3 excersizes that we had to run to a certain place, run back, ran farther, run back, etc.... (IT WAS A RACE) and everytime i finished an excersize (we did THREE excersizes like that) my legs felt really hot and they hurt so much that i could barely stand, and my feet were cramping (to top it off, it was freakin hot outside!). and now, 2 days later, my legs still hurt like crazy and it feels like i strained every muscle in my body. it hurts to sit down, stand, walk, or really anything. What should i do? Next Thursday we have to run a mile! Ahhh! the only way to get out of it is to get my parents 2 write a note excusing me from PE, but what would they write: "Dear Mr. IForgotHisName... My daughter has been sitting around all summer and shes not in shape anymore. your excersizes were too much for her and she broke down and now shes in major pain. sincerely, MyMom"???

maybe Advil will work???

  1. It just sounds like your muscles are sore,

Everytime you exercise and this goes for everyone, your muscles get REALLY sore the next morning, i know how that feels i always exercise :)

PE is h**l but the more you do it, you'll get used to it and it won't hurt so badly,

You just need to lay down as much as you can at home and rest. your muscles will eventually feel better.

advil will probably work, but they say to keep as much of that stuff out of your body as possible.

  2. that happens to me once and a while. it's kind of a good feeling though, you know? like you've accomplished something and you pushed yourself? btw, this also means you probably gained some muscle. it'll be fine if you have a few day to rest. it's not bad. it's good.  i take motrin once and a while if this happens and it works. you should be proud of yourself for trying that hard.

    answer mine please? everyone?!

  3. Advil could possibly work. I used to be like you when I'd start to play volleyball after all summer I sat around doing nothing. I never took anything though. I just sucked it up for a few days with the pain and eventually it just went away. I think if you stretched out and ran a little the next few days, you won't be sore for the big mile run. Good luck!

  4. I think most of us have been there, treating yourself to lazing about and then suddenly having to do a huge amount of exercise! I'd recommend doing a few stretches every morning and night to get your muscles moving again. It may hurt a bit, but a good way to heal sore muscles is to use them - just don't strain them again.

Also do a few upper body stretches as well because you also use your upper body when you run as well. And go for walks/jogs when you muscles feel a bit better.

Nothings going to make you fit before next week, but this should make the run less straining on your body.
