I think i have a yeast infection!! HELP!!?

I'm 13 and i swear i haven't had s*x before. EVER! I'm scared to tell my mom because i don't even let her see me naked. And i am terribly shy of letting a doctor see my privates. Please help!!

Go to the pharmacy and get a yeast infection treatment. If it doesn't work you're going to have to find a doctor that you will be comfortable with and have it checked out. You don't have to have s*x to get a vaginal infection. Your mom should know that. Don't be scared if she does freak out the doctor will set her straight. You need to take care of this promptly or you may end up dealing with something more serious than what you have now.

Does it itch and do u have cottage cheese looking discharge?  If so then yes its a yeast infection.

Why do you think you have a yeast infection? What are your symptoms? Yeast infections don't come from having s*x. Normally they are brought on by long term use of antibiotics. Have you been on any of them lately? The antibiotics kill the good yeast, which allows the bad to multiply quickly, causing a yeast infection. Other causes may include nylon underwear, to tight jeans, high sugar intake. They can be very uncomfortable, but are easily treated.

If you want to try to get rid of it yourself, a safe way that wont harm you if you dont have one is to dip a tampon in unflavored yogurt and leave it in for an hour or so, and do this 1-2 times a day, for a week or so. If your symptoms continue, suck it up and ask for a doctors appointment.

A yeast infection can be Candida which is naturally found in the body (v****a, mouth, digestive tract and skin). When there is an imbalance in the body, the yeast multiply.

This could be caused by a number of things like antibiotics, weakened immune system or poor diet (too much sugar, soda, etc.).  Some people are also susceptible after prolonged wearing of wet bathing suits, sensitivity to perfumed bath soaps, powders etc.  Candida can even be found in infants with diaper rash.

You don't provide enough information to confirm if you do have a yeast infection.  Do you have a strong smelling whitish discharge from your v****a and or redness or itchiness?  Both of these would be present in the case of a yeast infection (Candida).  

If a whitish discharge only, you may be experiencing normal discharge common in the 7th to 11th day of a menstrual cycle when your body is getting ready to release the egg from the ovary (Day 1 being the first day of your period when you start bleeding).  Your body secretes a mucus that feeds and nourishes sperm (if there's any there) during the 7-11th days of your menstrual cycle.  It's harmless and completely normal, and has the consistency of egg white at first and gets goopier by the 11th day, but you may find it icky.  If so, ask your mom to buy you pantiliners (unscented) for those days.

If on the other hand, you're experiencing the itchiness and strong smelling discharge then you will want to see a doctor about treatment.  A common drug store remedy is Monistat but you shouldn't treat with this unless you're certain of what is going on.

You don't have to be sexually active to get a yeast infection and you may have a bacterial infection. I was prone to them a lot when I was a teenager, no idea why. Anywho... While it can be very unnerving to let a stranger whether they're a dr or not look at your private areas, it's a fact of life especially for a girl. You need to let your mom know what's going on and make an appointment with a dr. Let them know your comfort levels and they should go very slowly and be very respectful. It's not as scary as it sounds and keep in mind people do it all the time. Your situation is nothing new for them and there's nothing to be shy about. Good luck!
