If you have the room for a Pro-8 then definitely get a Pro-8. If you have the room for a 9 I would get a 9. But the Pro 8 is the next best thing. You need a space 13.5" x 17.4" for the Pro-8

Yes. Bigger is always better. I know very few, if any, people who would rather play on a smaller table after spending any amount of time on a large table. If the biggest you can fit is an oversized 8 foot, get that. If you can squeeze in a 9 footer, do that.

Get an oversized 8 if you can ...I own one and granted I would have had a 9 but this one was to good of a deal and it had a great amount of sentimental value to me. And after restoring it the way I wanted it. I wouldnt get rid of it for nothing.  Rule of thumb is get as big as you can get.
