I think i just got a faint positive?

Question

i just took a dollar general pregnancy test!!! after five minutes i came back in the bathroom and i could see the faint line without picking it up and squinting my eyes. i wish i knew how to post it on here so you guys could see it. also usually my b***s hurt right after ovulation but this month they didnt start hurting until last night. and i'm not due for my period until tomorrow through thursday. my cycle is 28-30 days long. i'm so scared that maybe it was an evaporation line. are these cheap test known for that? we have been trying for 6 months and i have started to give up hope and left it in Gods hands to make the decision for us. please tell me what you think. thanks!!!!

Dollar Tree tests are accurate. They are the same ones used in the doctors office. I hope you made sure to follow the directions exactly because this is most often the cause of a test that is wrong. However, false positives are less likely than a false negative. If it looks positive after the time that it says to leave it, most likely you are pregnant.

EDIT: yes, I know I said Dollar Tree but they are the same ones they sell at Dollar General too. Also, as for the ovulation calculator, it only gives you a guess according to when most women ovulate. Each body is different and can ovulate on a different schedule than the calculator says.

Get in your car, drive to CVS or whatever- and buy an early detection test!  Right now, log off and GO!

I have had negative tests while i was pregnant and I had tests not show anything until I was late.  BUT the one with the plus and minus, that one was always right.  I forget the brand right now, but it was a plus and minus, not the two lines.  

Go to the store right NOW and you will know within an hour (especially if you are due for that monthly thing soon) Everyone here will tell you this and that, you won't know until you log off of here and get another test!  

Also, I have two children and they were both conceived when I was supposedly NOT ovulating.  We tried for 6 months pretty much on those days, those times, but it didn't happen.  I know my daughter was conceived a week OFF of that cycle.  And my son was a COMPLETE surprise,I still had my period and until my 4th month of pregnancy!  Just have fun <wink>.

Sounds like a positive to me.  Dollar store tests work just as good as others, (I have trusted them twice).  Take another in the morning since you have more of the hormones in your first morning urine but sounds like congrats are in order.

i would go to a clinic & see what they say, u left and checked it after five minutes? if its after ten then it's an evaporation line. re-test tomorrow w/ a better brand in the morning. Good luck to you...

When I took my first pregnancy test, I had a faint line too.  (bought it at Walmart and it wasn't the cheapest either).  I was still not sure because I'm like you, didn't know what the faint line could be.  I immediately went and got two more (expensive tests) and they were both positive as well.  I read the papers on the first test more closely then and it said any type of line (faint or dark) is a positive.  Different levels of the hormone pregnancy can cause different shades of blue.

It would not be an evap line if you checked within the recommended time (usually 10 minutes). Evap lines are also a different colour than what the pregnancy line should be (ie a lot of them are pink, and an evap line would be a grey colour). Evap lines aren't that common - even with cheap tests. I have taken plenty of cheap tests and never had an evap line. Sounds like you are pregnant!!! Congrats!!!!!

LOL Squinting you eyes cracks me up. I think we all do that to make one appear lol. It sounds like you are! Congrats!!!! Take one in the morning if you want to double check but it sounds positive.
