  1. find support groups online. i'm sure theres lots of them. if u have money, take the best medication i guess...

  2. With the medications that are on the market now IF you test positive you can still live a long and productive life. So just take it all one step at a time. Get tested and get your results. How long ago was it with this experience? HIV has a window period of 3 months. It usually shows up 90% of the time after 30 days, 94-96% after 60 days, 99.6% after 90 day, there are a few people that might take longer.

IF you test is positive, they will need to run another test to confirm the results. IF that happens, ask for the best doctors and work with what they offer. Rest, good eating habits, exercise and following the prescribed medical information is key to good health.

If you are not infected, please learn about HIV and use protection.

There are programs for HIV+ clients that help with telling friends and family, s*x partners and even how to have good safe s*x, it is called Healthy Relationship.  You didn't mention the ages of your children, if very young, don't tell them now. If you are HIV+ once you put the information out there you can't take it back, so carefully think about who you tell.

Best of Luck- I hope everything is OK-

  3. You should try not to worry about it until you know but in the mean time you could find support groups and information on treatment and things,

    National AIDS Hot line

    1-800-342-AIDS

  4. I really think that you don't need to worry, even though your friend sleeps around it doesn't mean that he has HIV, and even if he does (which is extremely unlikely) then the chances of you catching it from just that one time are also pretty low. Unless you live in a high-risk area like China or West Africa, HIV is actually less common than you'd think.

There are other STDs out there which are far more common, so ask to get tested for everything tomorrow. And don't lie awake worrying about it, I'm sure everything will be OK. And once you know you're clear, remember to always practise safer s*x!

  5. HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. So if you were exposed, you would of contracted HIV. AIDS usually don't come for another 10-15 years down the line. Many people with HIV do not even know they have it and that is why the TEST IS THE ANSWER.

As far as testing goes, it takes 3 months since your last exposure of s*x in order to get accurate results. For some, it may take up to 6 months but that is if you are suffering from a condition such as a organ transplant, or a previous IV drug user.. otherwise, majority of people with of tested positive by the 1st month, and anyone who contracted the virus would test positive by 3 months.

A test before the 3rd month is considered not accurate and is still in the window period of HIV. The reason being is there are those who take longer for their bodies to build up antibodies against HIV. Most people who are infected with HIV will test positive at 3 months.

So, 3 months since your last exposure of s*x would be your accurate result unless you are one of those who is suffering from the illnesses i mention above.

In the meanwhile, try to relax and there is always hope. Even if somehow, someway, the test showed up positive, they would have to confirm it with a western blot test before they diagnosis you as a positive, otherwise, try to not stress yourself out! You can worry, but do not stress yourself out by not eating or not focusing. Your kids need you and you need to be a parent, stand up and take control of yourself.

  6. you can email me if you wanna talk.

    whit.merc@yahoo.com

  7. don't worry now you will just loose sleep, you could have contracted an STD but be optimistic. I have slept around before and nothing happened. I don't recommend it but odds are not as bad as you fear.

plus HIV doesn't kill as fast as people think, you can still live to see your kids finish college and see a few grand kids after that.

    Don't sweat it.

  8. u cant cure aids!!!! but u shuld ave fort bout that 1stu lil ..... go c a gp

  9. very little ul have aids if he doesn't have it

  10. just tell ur truth..... u cant hide ur secret forever. if aids are detected in the early stage, there are good chances. keep ur secrets until aids have been confirmed by doctors... thats the best thing to do for now. its highly unlike to get aids for ppl like u. i mean wat r the odds.. dont worry. everything gonna be alright. have a cup of tea and try to relax a bit. most importantly, dont make the same mistake again. its shameful of u to sleep with other ppl.
