  1. That isn't exactly lucid dreaming...just being aware you are dreaming, doesn't make it lucid.

Lucid dreaming can start out with that "knowledge" that you are asleep and dreaming, but actually lucid dreaming is a tool that can be used in the subconscious to help identify certain problems, and potentially even look for certain people or items in the world.

It is a controlled sense of dreaming that provides the opportunity in that dream state to explore and move around, unencumbered and THEN, be able to recollect the information gather when you awake into the conscious.

Yes, journaling definitely helps, typically it is a 30 - 60 day cycle of purposefully waking yourself when you dream in order to write down what the dream was, in as much detail as you can...but waking one's self is difficult to do at first, which is one of the reasons it takes nearly 2 months to complete the first "phase" of complete lucidity.

After you are able to wake at will after a dream "ends", and document them, you can then find a pattern in your dreaming and create environments in your dreams while you are in them. Once the patterns are made aware and you can see that there are clearly repeating places, people and events, then you can "introduce" other people into your dreams on purpose...kind of like calling them and they show up, pretty much at will.

I have been doing this since '92 and in those years, sometimes it wanes, but have been able to be visited by some loved ones who have actually been able to deliver messages to me, that have spawned different moves, different career opportunities, showed me houses that I have bought, that I have yet to see...some cool stuff.

So, I would say, you are just starting out...mainly with just the journalling and the ability to "recognize" you are dreaming. Much more to do, if you want to further the practice.

BTW, don't forget to say "hi" to all YOUR messengers too...some will surprise you when they pop by...

    peace,

    Baldy

  2. If you are dreaming and you realize that you are dreaming then you are lucid dreaming.
