  1. The authorities are making an example of them. Look at some people who commit perjury i.e. Archer - jailed.

The Darwins put two fingers up to the system, but then the system took its revenge. Got to keep the masses in line otherwise they will all be at it!

They should serve their time in an open jail, and leave other jails for violent criminals.

  2. Well they broke the law what did you expect to happen?

And with regards to the criminals who kill and get let off, the Law courts and the law is a joke didn't you know that?

  3. True in the fact that drunk drivers  who knock someone over & kill them dont even get as long as them.

    The law is a As*

It is about time they started giving out proper sentances, starting with the footballer who killed 2 poor innocent children, because he was drunk & had no insurance,.................. the bloke is a waste of space, lock him up for 15 years i say

  4. He's up sh*t creek without a paddle. Haha, without a paddle. Badum boom tsh. :-D

  5. fraud is illegal i'm afraid

  6. It is simply a token gesture which will be reduced on appeal. I mean, how could people be jailed for lying in a country which has been ruled by congenital liars such as Blair and Brown?

  7. fraud  and money is more important than  people in this country. people that have killed cannot go to prison because the prison is full of money launderers, robbers and pensioners that refuse to pay their council tax. go stab a teen and get let off .rob a bank or dont get your car tax. youre in prison

  8. They played a Game. 5 years later they Lost.

Fraudsters need to be taught a Lesson.

But in the case of The McCanns, this seems to be Inapplicable.? Still time will soon catch Up, as with the Darwins ?

But,You are quite right, the Law is mad.

  9. They broke the law and decieved their own children. They deserve to be punished.

  10. they had to go to prison but six and a half years is a bit steep, the judiciary think more of money than life.

  11. The fact is that they stole money from the insurance company, for this they deserve a custodial sentence, people that kill, also deserve a custodial sentence, your question should be why do some people who kill, not go to prison when they should, why are THEY, not given the sentence that they deserve.

  12. In my opinion, they deserve jail for the distress they caused their sons alone.  They defrauded the insurance company & lied to everyone for years. The law is there for a purpose & everyone has to abide by the rules.

  13. They should have got a b0ll0cking and told not to do it again, but there was money involved and that as you say is more impotant than life.

  14. I think they should be in jail for life. People who steal are the lowest form of life on earth.Thank You.

  15. Sadly your question shows a distinct lack of contact with reason and reality!

What do you think should be done to people like them?  Probably give them a lot of money and send them of to enjoy the rest of their stolen booty!!!

People are never let off from killing people!!  It is either a lawful killing for which the person is stated to be innocent.  Murder, for which they are dealt with appropriately or manslaughter which can be the result of some entirely innocent and minor mistake, and results in some form of lesser punishment but "get let off" I challenge you to cite even one single case!!!!

Please be careful in the way you are thinking - it could well be the start of what psychologists call a social disorder!!!

  16. Do you complain at the cost of insurance?......That's the reason why it's sky high because of people like those.....

  17. When I saw how much time they got at first i felt pity towards them at their age....

But, they did pull a scam, hurting their children, who have had to grieve etc...

If they were my parents they would probably be dead for what they would have put me through......

  18. I hear what you're saying.

These days people seem to get shorter sentences for murder, manslaughter and such like.

But i'm sure you've heard of the old saying, 'If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.'

  19. I agree that sometimes the law seems to make very little sense!

In this case i think it's about the rest of the family and the misery they suffered as a result of the fraud.

    Just my opinion. :-)

  20. Take away the threat of prison for this crime and you would have a lot more committing it. This would push up insurance premiums for all of us and cause a lot of heartache

  21. All they did was steal £250,000 and they go to jail.Yet when ITV do it on their phone in competitions all they get is a slap on the wrist from ofcom

  22. They both deserve this sentence for the fraud they committed. and the wicked deception of their sons.

The Judge was right to jail them.  The judges who don't jail killers, or not for long, are an affront to the legal system and should be sacked.
