I think it is AWESOME that the truckers are going to strike!?

It's about d**n time!!! Do you agree with the trickers striking?

Why, or why not?

There is an old saying, what goes round, comes round. Diesel was cheaper than gas for a number of years, in fact some old timers have told me that it was given away free or for very little money many years ago.

If the truckers really want to send a message, every state should have someone head up the group in that state, so the date and time of the strike is taking place all over the United States. There is another way that would be just as good as an over all strike, but I don't think it would take places, because there are to many owner/operators involved, but all the trucks that go into and out of the port of Oakland, Ca. stop for a few  days or weeks it sure would make someone stop and listen real fast. If this was to take place in other ports around the country, see how fast Washington would be trying to make some adjustments. Good Luck to all the true truck drivers that keep their trucks in safe operating conductions.

Yes because they are being financially ruined out of their jobs.

No: Because when food doesn't reach the market, the wrong people get punished.

First of all - the price of fuel is market driven and the only real way to reduce fuel prices for truckers would be a subsidy paid for by the taxpayer.  I seriously doubt that the voting public will approve of this.

Second - those independent truckers are going to lose business to the guys who did not go on strike.  If you are a business manager - would you want to give your business to the guy who let you down of the guy who proved to be reliable?

hmmm.. yes.. i heard all about it. .. yet dont understand it much... but i ABSOLUTELY agree w/what is happening... they SHOULD go on strike.. =) the price of diesel has went up DRASTICALLY and is terrible... i agree  =)

Most truck companies have or are cutting back on their fleet and drivers by 25% because of the fuel cost. That means about 25% of the truck drivers are going to be unemployed. The rest of the 75% are still in danger of losing their jobs especially if they are owner operators because of the fuel expense. The government is forcing them out of business. The truckers transporting this nations goods are going to come to a halt, if not by strike it will be because of this recession turning into another great depression. Some might say it is the trucker's moral duty to continue to do their job but it is impossible to support a family when every dollar goes into the expense of running the truck. A local dump truck company just went out of business because it cost the owner $700 plus a week per truck to operate. He put his whole fleet up for sale and hasn't gotten a single offer for any of the trucks. He could be facing bankruptcy and his wife has cancer. No company around here is hieing. The only job offers are scams on the Internet.

The economy is bad, very bad because of the corrupt leaders in Congress who cater to the oil rich and government contractor war profiteers. The New World Order has ripped America off. The thieves in the Federal Reserve have ripped America off. McCain, Obama and Clinton have their agendas of continued New World Order ripping America off.

We need Ron Paul elected in 2008.

It's gonna be tough on a lot of people, but I definetly understand it.  Stock up on all of your housing, food, and water supplies, because they drive that stuff all over the country.

agree with truckers- and yes this should have been done a very long time ago.

Something needs to be done about these gas prices very very soon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
