I think you're right--they are fake.

1.)  His name is Chad.  That's all.  Just Chad.

2.) He doesn't want to disclose his location.  Why not?

3.) He sees them all the time, but can't manage to get them on video.

These three facts alone point out that he doesn't want his claims to be investigated.  If you don't put your claim up to scrutiny then you're hiding something.  Could it be that Chad is hiding the fact that he's made all of this up?

I think it's fake as well but I agree with you that it's interesting freaky footage. They might have a future making sci-fi (at least B level) movies.

FYI: If you ever see anything that small and unexplained shoot it down (or throw a rock). Of course you might have to deal with the wrath of the miniature aliens ;) j/k

These things have been floating around the internet for a few years. I think they are a toy some one has made or a clever hoax some one whipped on a computer.  The other possibility's are some new military widget, some  model on a piece of string, or a new alien spacecraft for 1 inch tall green men.  I'll let you decide, my money is on clever hoax.

As saladfingers has very good computer graphics images of the things, the most logical conclusion is that ALL of the images wre created by saladfingers

The first thing that comes to mine when people see odd things in the sky in California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Mexico is this:

The military has a new toy and they are testing it out to see how useful it is going to be.

Chad could be withholding his last name out of paranoia - with our government right now I can say I blame him.

Or it could be a clever hoax ... with photoshop and all those other fun computer programs someone could make a convincing image of Christ descending from heaven or Godzilla walking out of the ocean and inspecting New York.
