  1. Ange, if you are going to complain about a person's spelling & grammar, it may be better to use spell check next time. It saves a lot of embarrassment.

  2. Ange - you can't spell grammar!!!

  3. Yes I agree.

And parents should start with " One plus one sometimes make another one"

    :)

  4. i think i get what your saying,  and if my kid was learning that c**p in preschool, i think i would have to home school also

  5. that's because you're a pillock

  6. who decides when its OK for teachers to teach them about history or science or English or any of the other subjects?

let the teachers do there job, it is state requirements when children  should  be taught certain things in certain grades.

teachers don't come to your house and tell you when you should cook dinner or do your laundry, just let then do there jobs and you do yours.if it is so harmful for your children then home school them.

i am sure there are some parents who are not so great at math themselves so how can that help a child?

  7. Don't indoctrinate them at an early age.  Wait until they are adults and they can then make up their own minds about Mathematics.

  8. I like the one about spelling... but you are right as sometimes I have to read comments twice to get the gist of what they are talking about... but its fun anyway...!!

  9. You can't even spell properly and your grammer is terrible, leave it to the teachers.

  10. I think you are wrong there son.

Math is required of anyone who would consider themselves literate. It is used on a daily basis and if the populace could not do it for lack of teaching it in our schools then shame on the government, the teachers, and the parents.

In this world these days? We need to know our maths.

  11. True - especially as children aren't allowed to use maths until they're 16 as it is against the law.

Would you teach your child to drive a car at 10, but tell them not to?

The naming of body parts though, isn't s*x education.  It's biology.

  12. It's always a hot-button subject. Most people don't want to accept the fact that little Johnny or little Susie is going to get laid at some point (little Susie way more than little Johnnie). Not having any kids myself, I find parents laughable on many issues. Having kids does NOT give you a PHD in life. In fact, it seems to do just the opposite.

  13. Very witty commentary Q

  14. Well why stop at maths? Why not teach your child everything yourself at home, then you can be sure he gets his education as you would like it?

  15. five out of four people agree with you

  16. Maths is an important part of everyone's life. It can be used in everyday life not just as children, but throughout any given persons whoooole life. Maths doesn't just include times tables, algebra etc. etc. it's also learning to count. Without maths, children wouldn't know the values of different coins or whatever, for example, say they wanted to buy something worth 50p, they would not know how to make 50p if they only had 10ps, 20ps, 2ps, 1ps, etc.

Every person uses maths every single day without even realising it. It's one of the most important subjects taught in schools!!!

  17. I disagree - unlike s*x education, maths is an important basic life skill which even toddlers benefit from learning.  Simple addition and subtraction learning is fun and useful to young children.  I agree that time tables should come later, say after age 6 but definately basic maths needs to remain in the school curriculum.
