My betta has a white blob on it's face above it's eye. It often goes into the corner and will only come up for food or air. He is in a community tank with 3 white cloud minnows, 1 dwarf gourami, and two Dalmatian mollies. They mostly get along. But they sometimes chase each other.

  1. Well for one thing you have a mixture of fish that really shouldn't be together.

White clouds are cold water and the rest are tropical. The gourami and betta are not compatible as well as the mollies. So he is probably stressed from that which makes him more susceptible to disease.

He probably has a fungal infection. I recommend the jungle product. Here is a website to help you determine what is wrong with him. It includes pictures for you to compare

good luck, I hope he makes it through

  2. it is probably ICK go to the pet store and buy treatment

  3. mixing a groumai and a betta = no no!

they are both from the same family, they are basically cousins. You should not mix them.

Depends on what the white dot is. It could be ich, but soon your other fish will start showing the white dots.

I'm guessing, why he is hiding is because of the gourami, move him out and I bet you anything he'll come out more. Or you can just get the betta his own small tank, with a few shrimp or so. Bettas dont like a lot of water movement, so if you filter is pushing too much water, that'd make him hide also.
