He's only about two years old =/

&He's really fluffed up around the bum , and his p**p is sticking to his bum and its really messy. He kind of shivers and it looks really bad , he's leaning forwards alot and he's all fluffed up , I can't take him to a vet because my parents are on vacation and I'm staying at my house , with a friend. So DON'T SUGGEST ANYTHING TO DO WITH A VET. NO options with a vet are possible . What can I do for him at home ? I really don't want him to ... Die .

help me , pleaseee = (

I just completely cleaned&washed his cage to make it better . And I'm going to cover him up with a couple blankets for a bit , but other than that I don't know what to doo... I just noticed this yesterday.

  1. You could put him on a warm heating pad out of drafts with water and food within his reach. He might be diabetic or sick some other way. Birds do get diabetes with watery stools, but it could be some other sickness also. A vet is best or at least call the pet shop where you got him from and ask them.

  2. If you don't want anything to do with the vet, then what do you think is gunna happen???? Find a way to the vet or let him die!

  3. he's got an infection

that should be treated with antibiotics, but since u can't take him to a vet.

try to keep him warm and give him his food

i mean, to put it right in front of him.

wait for him to eat it.

keep him away from all noise as well

if he does recover, whenever u give him his veggies ..wash and dry them too.

never give him anything that is taken right out of the fridge (like cold carrots ..etc)

good luck, hope he makes it :S

  4. u should get a warm heating pad, keep him in a warm enviroment, make sure he gets lots of food and water, dont touch him to much, and just to let u noe my bird had the sme thing it was respiratory infection, and not to scare u but he died, but he lived 4 about 4 to 5 months afterward, and srry to mention the vet but make sure as soon as ur parent get bac u tell them to take it tothe vet, my birds vet fee came to about 70 bucks. and also try giving ur bird veggies lik carrots salad mix grapes apples bread, if u arent already, hope this helps u, best of luck and i hope ur bird gets well.

    go to:

    google.com, search parakeets

  5. If his bum is messy and p**p is sticking to it, please clean it, I would advise getting a a bowl of warm water not hot of course just nice and warm and putting him deep enough so his bum is in the water and keep him there for sometime so the mess is easier to get off, then try to get the mess off with a soft towel or something, it could be that his bum i just really covered in p**p and he can't p**p anymore with all the dry p**p there, happened to one of my budgies once

  6. Your budgie is definitely very, very ill!  You need to get him to an avian vet as quickly as possible!!!!!!!  Be creative and figure out how you can do it immediately!  I know you said you couldn't get to a vet, but your bird could be dead in a very short time without proper treatment.

In the meantime put him in a smaller container with food & water.  Use soft cloth under paper towels and put him on a heating pad on low or med.  Cover the container with a light towel, allowing air to get in.

When birds are ill they must be kept warm and the stress reduced as much as possible.  Good luck.

  7. your parakeet IS very sick. i have to say that you MUST SEE A VET. i am not just saying that. honestly, and im not just saying this to prove my point, my budgie died this afternoon cuz i didnt get her to a vet in time. so PLEASE, see a vet! if ur parents are gone, how about ur friends parents? also, some vets will make emergency house calls.....i hope ur birdie gets better!!!

  8. I am so sorry your bird is sick.  I know how upsetting this can be.

If you do not have a heating pad, our vet uses a sock filled with rice.  You put the sock in the microwave for a few minutes and then put it in the cage.  Make sure it is not too hot, just warm to the touch.  Try to get the bird to move near the sock as best you can, without freaking it out.

Keep the room very quiet, and cover the cage.  Keep the lights low.

Unfortunately, by the time a bird shows symptoms they can be quite sick.  They are experts at pretending to be okay, so that they can fool predators.

If you can call your parents.  They may be able to suggest a family friend that can help you arrange a vet visit.  If you can think of any way to get him to the dr.  That would be your best bet.

    Edit:

You will want to make sure that the vet handles birds, not all vets do, because they are delicate.
