It looks like my cat has some flakes (like dandruff) in her hair. Could this be dandruff and how could I cure it?

  1. My cat has that problem. I took her to the vet and he gave me Efa-Z-Plus which is a spray I squirt on her food that she doesn't taste or notice (yay)

It SAYS you can only get it from a vet but I now buy mine online and it's cheaper :)

I'll give you a link so you can check it out on your own

  2. I do not advise bathing a cat but brushing will certainly help. Omega fatty acids can also improve coat quality.

  3. you should just take it to the vet I'm sure they can fix it.

  4. Try brushing your cat more often.

Or you could try using cat dandar shampoo they might not like it but it will get the job done!

  5. The cat may need a prescription shampoo.  There are various oily and dry skin conditions.  You have to know which one she has.  It's best to consult a vet about any skin affliction.

My cat had seborrhea (dandruff flakes), which was easily treated with the right shampoo that was recommended by his vet.  My mother's cat lost almost her entire coat to what we learned was a flea allergy.  Fortunately, a shot and some ongoing flea treatment restored her coat to normal.

  6. Hi there. Too of my cats suffer from what looks like dandruff on their backs in certain spots. I seamed to have solved the problem with brushing  a bit more and putting a small amount of cod liver oil for animals in their food. Their coats seam a lot softer and brighter as well now. If the area gets sore or looks red i would say it a Vet job

  7. Depending on how your cat reacts to water...if he doesnt mind water that much there are some really good shampoos that work really well for it.

  8. Yeah could be dry skin or dermatitis, take him to the vet to check.  He may have sensitive skin, I know mine does :)
