  1. i too had a problem similar to this.  i was using the free avg and switched to the free avira and neither one detected anything.  then i went to earthlink.net and got the norton 360 although good on removing spyware, not so good with virus.  So, then I got this new thing called earthlink pcc with attack shield.  $3.00 a month you can get it billed to you or pay $24 for the whole year.  Let me tell you, the first time it took a good 10-15 min.s to scan my computer and it found .....ready for this.....5 VIRUSES! i kid you not!  also spyware that was "hijacker" jacking my searches and my homepage!  so , i removed them and then also purchased the pc fine tune from earthlink (recommended after you remove viruses) and it cleaned up everything and even defraged my hard drive!  so, from experience, this is what i recommend the earthlink pcc with attack shield and the earthlink pc fine tune.  and it gets even better, you can try the first month for free!  and you dont need any credit card or bank account!  go to http://my.earthlink.net and click on support and go to live chat and talk to a live agent. you dont even have to call on the phone and wait on hold!  hope this helps.

  2. Try Malwarebytes.  Install, update & scan.

By the way...... if you are running 2 anti-virus programs....  bad idea. They will conflict. Uninstall either AVG or Avira.

  3. Restart your PC in safe mode with networking

Download, install and run a full scan with Malwarebytes

Run a full scan with Micro Trend House Call

  4. wat avg you have? I have AVG free ver.7.5 and i totally need to update and buy the AVG 8.0 lol

If there's a problem with my computer i always bring it to some kind of expert. (like bring the whole machine) . Like one times i had tons of spyware and so took it to this place called "unitec Comp." so then they gave me this free AVG 7.5 and fixed everything and only costed me like $80

  5. Trend Micro has a very good free online scan you can use.

BTW, not sure what "media bar" is and I'm assuming you are on Windows (what version?).

  6. Download SuperAntiSpyware

    - Update and Scan

  7. Your best bet is avast

  8. Use the following programs:

    Spybot - Search & Destroy

    Avira AntiVir Personal

    Spyware Doctor Starter Edition

    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Malwarebytes alone should be able to remove the infection with a full scan, the rest of the programs are to protect yourself in the future from other infections.

  9. Malwarebytes' AntiMalware and NOD32

  10. Just go to my profile and click the link for btexpress.(located under my pic of the dog) They will help with almost any computer problems.
