  1. Baby corn snakes need to eat 1 pinky every 3 ~ 5 days for the first 8 ~ 12 weeks, followed by 2 pinkies or 1 fluff every 4 ~ 7 days. Adult corn snakes will probably eat an adult sized meal every week, but only need to eat every 7 ~ 14 days to avoid getting fat.

  2. The best advice (and most reassurance) I can offer you is to suggest that you simply google your cornsnake, and pay attention to the pictures of cornsnakes.

Cornsnakes are a more slender and "v" shaped reptile, than many other species of snakes (they are not big/full around, like a ball python).

As for the feeding advice; it sounds like you, or 'they,' got confused.  It sounds like you were giving her two pinkies per feeding once a week, and got confused when people suggested that you cut back to one feeding (were they thinking you were feeding the snake twice a week?), and you took that to mean just give her one pinkie once a week.

A good rule of thumb for feeding your snake is not to feed it food which is wider than its head is.  So, if her head across, is as big around as the pinkies - they are the right size.  At 15 inches, and 5 mo. of age, I don't personally feel that two pinkies per feeding once a week is too much (and snakes will not eat, if they aren't hungry, but you don't want to over-feed, either).

Younger snakes feed more often as they are growing/developing/gaining lenth and girth.  Older snakes don't need as much, as often.  My young Mexicana king is a tad bigger than that size, and he takes 4-5 rat pups every 3-4 wks.  My 4 ft. and 5 ft. corns eat 3-4 large mice each, once a month, and both are slender, with the prominent "v" back, but of good maintenance body weight.)

Again, there are many helpful websites available to give you feeding suggestions, and frequency.  But, you will encounter a lot of contradictory advice, as well.

It is always best to check with your vet, and discuss maintenance feeding -vs- power feeding.

I hope this has been helpful.

    Enjoy your cornsnake!

  3. All snakes has this.... It isn't there spine, its their skin.

  4. if your on mice pinkies...switch to rat pinkies...they are a little bit bigger, healthier for your snake and this will help fatten her up....

until you get her to the weight you think she looks healthy give her two or three of them....i wouldnt feed her more often.....i would just feed her more

  5. corn snakes are small but i am pretty sure yours can clearly eat one fuzzie a week. if it regurgitates then move up to 2 pinkies a week.

    good luck!

  6. Let it out to get something to eat!!

  7. feed her bigger baby mice, if that makes sence.  ya know, ones with a little fur on them that can run around, just not adult yet.  corn snakes are thin to begin with.
