Question:

I think my cousin can see ghosts...?

My great-grandads funeral was on the weekend and after the service we had lunch at the RSA where the funeral was held. Anyway...we were all eating and I had to look after my four year old cousin for half an hour. She was sitting next to me on a chair, no one had told her that her great grandad had died. I suddenly felt anxious and cold for no obvious reason, then suddenly she looked at the roof and said..." don't worry I will, goodbye poppa ". And there was no one there. As soon as she had said that I warmed up again and not axious anymore. Do you think this could have been his spirit that she saw, like just crossing over into some sort of "other world"...? Or if not, then why would my cousin do that...?

Thanks.

  1. Your cousin is 4 years old!  Small children are very imaginative and its very natural for them to outwardly interact with people they create (or re-create as in this case) in their minds. That's part of being a child.  Nothing unusual here. There's no point in appealing to wild supernatural theories when typical child behavior explains it fully.

  2. sounds like a visitation to me & your cousin has a gift

  3. Why would your four year old cousin talk to the wall?

I believe that children unlike adults have not disconnected to the real existence of the other world. My niece said things to my dad at age four that just floored me. He said to her that he would see her when she was grown, she didn't know that he had lung cancer, he did not wear any apparatus or anything, yet she replied, no, you will be dead by then.  The bible is replete with stories of spirits coming and going, should it be any different now?

  4. I think your cousin can see ghosts.

Well this kind of thing does happen to someone sometimes.

    Just relax...

    Its over right?

Or does your cousin still see any ghosts.

If this happens, maybe you can seek someone with experience.

Anyway, don't go think much about it!

    =)

  5. Unfortunately this is so typical of those who believe in the "paranormal".  A four year old makes a random comment (as four year olds tend to do) and you jump to the conclusion that she can see ghosts.  Wow, that's a pretty cut and dried case.  No other evidence is needed.  If that is all the more evidence you require to believe something I have a bridge you might be interested in buying.

  6. i think your cousin perceived something and you feel it too,in a different manner, and yes is something incredible, but nothing to be alarm or scare of,

  7. I think your cousin was bit by a dog

  8. You should have asked her what she saw.

Yes Spirits can be seen from time to time by some people.

No scientific explanation, I saw my dead father twice

Once in the trauma center, where I introduced him to everyone, no I did not have a head injury. He stayed until my mother got there and just left.

Again, I was going to check on a friend that everyone suspected may have taken or was going to take his own life.

On the way up the driveway someone grabbed me on the shoulder, fairly hard, no one was there. I heard my dad say " you are too late, but be careful"  The man was on the ground 10 feet in front of me, but he wasn't quite dead yet and still had the shotgun in his hands pointed in my direction. I got out of the way and possibly his reflexes made him pull the trigger , but I was missed.

  9. Well... You should ask her about it, I think.

Nobody ever denied the existence of 'ghosts' or spirits, so it could be some sort of a reflect... I don't know. Never had this problem.

  10. I think sure it could have been his spirit that your young cousin saw. I have been investigating the paranormal for many years and i hear stories like this often. Although a four year old does not behave in such a manner and to do so is nothing normal about it.

As for the so-called skeptics, I hope you do not allow their hateful actions to bother you. I do question their own motives as true skeptics are searching for paranormal activity many who have commented do not appear to be searching for proof but rather just denying anything that happens that isn't normal and claiming it is normal. By doing so they have clouded their own minds to just dismiss any claims, makes one wonder why they are so driven.

The truth of the matter is that not everyone is going to see something paranormal. If it were so easy then there would be tons of evidence. I say if they truly want proof then they should spend the time and effort at debunking it in person and less time consumed with denial. But we that believe know they won't do this they want someone to hand them proof so they can try to find ways to say it isn't real or it was faked.

But all that aside your cousin could very well have a gift and then again it could have been a one time thing. Spirits do not work on cue and they do not have to prove themselves.

I am not telling you that you should believe or not believe no that is for you, yourself to decide but I do hope that you allow your mind to remain open. Don't fall too deep into the paranormal that everything you may see that is out of place appears to be paranormal. keep your wits about you and try to debunk because it is true that a lot of what people believe to be paranormal can be just normal everyday events or the mind playing tricks on you.

Cool story by the way thanks for posting it.

  11. children are more prone to seeing spirits (ghosts or creatures from the other realm), many times they will grow out of it, or it will be a fleeting stage. if she has the "gift" (or curse to some) of sight, be there for her. she will start seeing more and more, not all of them pleasent, and she will have to learn to control it on her own, telling her they arent real will make her think shes crazy, but like wise saying, oh yea theyre everywhere, cant get away from em. would not be a wise thing either, so just listen and comfort as best you can if she turns out to be able to see them.

on the other side of the coin (as always, there is multiple sides to every thing, so maybe the saying should be "on another facet of the rubiks cube"?) she could have seen it as a mental conjured image of grief, she could have overheard others. only she knows.

  12. Wow,

    maybe she did see her.

i heard that when children are young they may be able to talk to dead people and all that.

that happens because the child has an open mind.

    Open to anything

so when a dead person tries to talk to them they would embrase it and be able to talkk to them.

If they keep an open mind they could continue to talk to them.

  13. It may be possible. The Jews believe that a persons spirit will hang around for a few days before going to Abraham's bosom.

The Bible says that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. But it does not mean that a human spirit cant linger for a while here on Earth. I dont believe that a human spirit can stay on Earth too long for after death comes the judgment.

The spirits that we associate with a haunted house are demons playing out the role of people they hung around for they want to feel something. So they playout the role of a human for we have feelings. Different devils have different motives so some are passive in their hauntings and some are violent.

So can you see a loved one after they die? Probably for a while if God chooses.

  14. Possibly, although I don't believe that there are such things as spirits of the dead.  When we die - that's it - lights out.  I believe that the spirits seen are the demons (or bad angels), that are misleading people into believing in spirit life after death.  So yes - she could have seen something, but I don't think it was your relative.

  15. No she cant, because there is no such thing as ghosts

  16. Ask her if possible.

Children are often able to perceive things that we (older people) can't. They haven't been affected by the world the way we have (yet).

    Good luck! :)

  17. My father was killed in an accident shortly after I was born.

From the age of 4, my mother tells me that I started to question her about the `man in the hallway` who was always there when I was put to bed. After weeks of this, it gradually happened less and less to the point where it actually stopped happening.

Approximately six months after this, when we were moving house, I apparently saw my mum packing her wedding album into a box and instantly recognised the `man in the hallway` as the man in the photographs she was looking at? Is it possible that I actualy saw my dad almost 4 years after his death despite having never known him?

I guess no-one will ever know and it hasn't happened since although it has always been the subject of hot debate at family gatherings.

My feelings therefore are that yes, it is highly possible that your cousin could see something/somebody that nobody else couldn't - children have no concept of what they should and shouldn't be seeing at that age.

  18. wow, that makes you think twice about things. i beleave she did talk to her poppa. did you ask her? they say children are more prone to seeing things like this. because thier more open minded. wow thats great. thanks for that question, for some reason that made me feel good.

  19. I think anything is possible, people who are "psychic" say that children are the most susceptible to seeing spirits because they are less inhibited then the adults around them.

I have personally seen ghosts so I believe she may have also.

  20. At the age of 4 a person usually doesn't know what death or a funeral is, so I highly doubt she knew someone died.

I also agree that she probably really saw him. Like the other people I think you should ask her what she saw. It's true that children see ghosts more often. When you get older people around you keep saying things like that don't exist. Your ability to 'really' see gets blocked by all those 'facts'. If you don't believe in something you can't see it.

You also felt something so it can't really be a coincidence, can it?

And I really hope some people will become a bit more mature someday. I'm talking about the people who instantly answer with things like: "You're such a moron, ghosts don't exist!" They obviously don't respect people that have different beliefs.

I don't believe ghosts are the work of demons. Demons probably have better things to do than reassure people that their loved-ones are ok.

Have a nice day, everyone! ^-^

  21. There are two possibilities. Either you were sad and she was talking to your dad or she saw your great-grandpa.

The"other world" is the astral plane. Just a different part than MOST psychics go to. In the astral plane there is the human plane where you are a spirit on Earth and only certain people can see you. And the Astral Plane which is a different world all together.

The spirit one is more likely. Spirits like to stay on Earth a little while longer.

  22. dear girl, why don't you take up the easy-to-read bible and start reading from genesis to revelation. i bet you'd have no doubts left to think over whether there are ghosts or not. read what jehovah said about spirits, ancestors, death, h**l etc. scriptures relevant are ecclesiastes chapter 9 verses 5 & 10, romans chapter 5 verses 12 & 14, 1st of timothy chapter 2 verse 14, exodus chapter 34 verse 14 and matthew chapter 4 verse 10. see what god himself has to say about the condition of the dead and if it's good to communicate with the dead. scriptures - psalms chapter 115 verse 17, isaiah chapter 38 verse 18, chapter 8 verse 19, leviticus chapter 19 verse 31, deuteronomy chapter 18 verses 10-12, galatians chapter 5 verses 19-21. what i'd say to you is that there are evil angels siding with satan or devil, the original serpent. what they are doing is enticing and attracting good humans to turn away from god himself. such angels don't deserve a bit of attention from us. and children are his favorite targets, being innocent and of sweet nature. one of satan's demons no doubt did an illusory trick to that child. being a soft target, and being unaware of what death is and who died, she at once realized what she was forced to see. satan's demon forced her to see an apparition. and that says it all. but one thing, dear, we don't have to be afraid of satan or his demons. and demons are not those what are dished out to us in horror movies. to know what demons are and how they came to be, read genesis chapter 6 verse 1, 1peter chapter 3 verses 19 & 20, 2peter chapter 2 verse 4, jude verse 6, luke chapter 8 verses 27-29, and revelation chapter 16 verses 13 & 14. and particularly, you or your cousin or even your family need not be afraid or scared of satan or his demons. jehovah is there to protect us in times of our need. do one thing, just pray to jehovah this way - go to your room, sit on the bed, be comfy, close your eyes and think of the word jehovah (don't think of any symbols or signs because jehovah himself warns of thinking about such). just start praying as - our dear heavenly father jehovah, it feels great to pray to you. ....you can pour out your heart here... jehovah definitely listens to the needy. and you and i are definitely in need of jehovah. end your prayer when you feel what you've said is ok. and pray to jehovah asking for anything and all things through the ransom sacrifice of his son jesus (remember jesus never claimed himself to be god and never even mentioned that people pray to him - in fact, jesus himself prayed to god after his baptism and also when he showed his disciples and his followers how to pray) but jesus gave his life for all of us, to redeem us from death and sin. so it's only just that we pray and ask god through jesus. it's very important that you continue in faith. remember, what you pray to jehovah is only between you and him (through jesus of course!). but no other person, not even any church father or pastor or a bishop or even pope has to come between your personal relationship with jehovah, the true god. don't support false religion. remember jehovah is the whole and sole creator while jesus is his immediate creation and loving son just as we all are children of god. that's all i've to say. if you feel anything you want to talk to me about, you can mail me at bal71dan@yahoo.co.in. my name is baLaJi and i reside in noida, a place near new delhi/india. though born and brought up a hindu brahmin, i'm trying to shun and keep myself away from false religion. i'm studying bible with jehovah's witnesses, a group much hated, and much admired too, around the world. they're so warm a people that i forget all the pains i'd gone through when i'm in their midst.

  23. Dont know ....Four Years Olds are quite bright and thats the age they develop their memory and ability to recal...

I can tell everyone that I was four years old but not three and its likely because she was at the funeral she got the message that someone had died and probably her great grandfather and thats the reason for this celebration..

I remember attending my aunts wedding when I had just turned four and my parents didnt explain to me anthything because you dont do that to kids.. I remember being picked up  and carried around alot by people and getting ready and going in the car somewhere and then by that time we were at a hall and there were alot of overdressed people so I knew this was a special occassion and then I hear the ceremony and knew we were at the wedding and then seeing pink cake and being fed this delicious pink cake.....then I fell asleep only to wake up and find everyone hurtling toward the exit as the bride left and realised the bride was my aunt and that she was my dad younger sister ...all this i learnt by myself without having a conversation...

Her not knowing there was a funeral...have you asked her?

But her seeing ghosts ....some people can and it happens to women mainly at al ages...
