Shes going to be 4 months on the 12th, shes a big kid (95 percentile) and I noticed she is a crazy sleeper like me. I was sleeping next to her and when I woke up my nose hurt, so my guess is she swung her little arm over and her little fist hit my nose lol. How many of you have woken up with bruises or with your kids in weird positions..i.e- opposite side of the bed or anything else???

  1. Americans are such lemmings. All the government has to do is slap a sticker on something, and everyone believes it without question. If you do research, the statistics that lead people to believe that co-sleeping is dangerous include such obviously dangerous sleeping situations as co-sleeping on a water bed or sofa, co-sleeping while drunk/high, co-sleeping as a smoker, co-sleeping in a bed with a dangerous frame, and all deaths that would have been ruled as SIDS deaths had the baby been in a crib when the unfortunate incident occurred. A responsible parent would never co-sleep under such circumstances.

And another thing- anyone ever tried to research how safe it is to leave your baby in a crib? There have been no studies done on whether or not it is safe to let your baby sleep alone. This seems weird to me, as historically and world wide co-sleeping is the norm. Crib sleeping is the new kid on the block and should be evaluated  carefully before we embrace it. If government officials are so freaking smart, why is our country in approx. $9,567,956,174,700 of debt (yeah, that's a real number)? And why did it take us so long to resolve our recent attack of the killer tomatoes and realize that peppers were (probably??) to blame for the recent salmonella outbreaks? Traditionally in our culture, we have provided products based on consumer demand, and then looked into their safety and such way down the road after a few people sued. This may be good enough for the rest of the lemmings, but I for one am not using my baby as a guinea pig.

Back to the question- I used to take care of a little boy as a nanny who literally took up the entire queen size bed all by himself. He was eight months old. I woke up on the edge of the bed or half-way off the bed several times while taking care of him. He also had a bad habit of pulling my hair during the night. Kids do the darnedest things. =]

  2. must you put a lot of ice

  3. lol that sounds so cute, hop my 4 month doesnt do that, my sister always use to wake up in the weirdest places, cause she use to sleep walk, and we shared a bede when we were younger for quite some time, and yes i am a light sleeper and seen everytime she got up to explore a different part of the house IE, under the house, she just the weirdo who would wake up and find sratches on here arms or small bruises heheh

  4. I have a 3 word solution:

    HER OWN CRIB

    or

    HER OWN BED.

  5. Ok, first of all, it is VERY dangerous for an adult or older sibling to sleep with a baby. A baby could DIE from that. It is VERY risky so don't EVER do that again! What if you roll on top of her? She could suffocate and die!

Second of all, it is either she could have hit you on accident or that has been there and you didn't notice.

  6. you shouldn't be sleeping with her in the same bed as you. its dangerous. she needs a crib or cradle. you or your blankets on the bed could suffocate her.

  7. well my brouther started off withshis head on one side and feat on the outher and woack up the opsite.

  8.
