It's red and a little swollen and has green stuff coming out. Is it infected? If so do I need to go to the vet or can I buy over-the-counter? We first saw it yesterday. Thanks!!

  1. yes i had a kitten like that exactly all u have to do is go to the vet it is invected dont kiss it and wash ur hands after you touch it and dont touch hid=s eye   GO TO THE VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!

    good luck!!

  2. If green stuff is coming out, your dog's eye is definitely infected. You should see your vet first, and he/she can probably tell you where and what to buy so your dog's eye heals, or he may even have the right stuff. It's Probably best if you don't let him/her where there is a lot of:

    -dust

    -leaves

    -dirt

    -etc.

Hope your dog's eye heals up! Good luck!

  3. Anything green or discolored is a sign of infection.  You will need to get the dog to the vest as soon as possible.  Good luck.

  4. You never know what it could be. It may be just an eye infection or something more serious. To be on the safe side, take him to the vet.

  5. Bring him into a vet. It maybe an infection that needs treatment. You could call an emergency office and see what you can do at home. Best advice....clean it with a warm wash cloth and call your regular vet ASAP in the morning.

  6. green is definietly a sign of infection-most likely due to allergies of the season. My vet did not treat because it was seasonal.you might try simply putting a dab of antibiotic in corner of eye

  7. Hmm, you should see a vet as soon as possible. Just ask the vet if she/he can take a look at your dog's eye. Depending on what she says, it will also depend if it is something you can cure easily, or an infection. You'll never know for sure until you take her to a vet.

  8. Go to the vet in the morning - they will give you the right ointment to get rid of the infection quickly.

You really don't want to mess with anything else - eyes are too important.  In the meantime, she would probably really like a warm compress - just be careful not to get it on the other eye, or that'll get infected, too.  Wash your hands so you don;t spread it around - although they are dog specific germs.  You can't get it.
