  1. well this question kind of needs more background info. How long has he been "depressed?" He may be lethargic. I wish i had more info to go on.

    good luck.

  2. He doesn't have depression. You're lending human interpretation to normal facial expresssions for dogs. Just because a dog looks sad to you does not mean it is sad. Try elevating your perception of canine behavior instead of projecting your own expectations.

  3. Well, first I have to ask what makes you think he has depression?  He could actually be sick.  Not to be rude, but please explain a little bit.

  4. Dogs don't usually have the feeling people do, but they can reflect our feelings.

Why do you think the dog is "depressed"?   Is the dog sick?  How old?

  5. I'd try taking him for walks, will he play with a toy that you throw? Take him to a pet store that allows dogs to come in on a leash and walk him around and let him "shop". If he likes other dogs find a neighbor that has a friendly dog to play with. Go for rides in the car, just get him out of the daily routine.

  6. Get him to be active - play with him, get him to interact with other dogs.

Spend time with him - he may be lonely

If he's older - It may also be just age.
