I think my ear is infected what do i do now?

i just pierced my cartiladge 2 days ago. at first it didnt hurt and it looked normal. today however it hurt SO bad it was bright red and swollen! i have tried putting hydrogen peroxcide on it and it hasnt done anything! i took the earring out. What else can i do? i am too afraid to tell my parents.

DO NOT USE PEROXIDE

this is too harsh for a new piercing and "burns" the inside of the wound.

any swelling on a cartilage piercing after 48hrs would need medical attention. DO NOT REMOVE the earring first.

use natural sea salt with cooled boiled water from your kettle to clean it.

check the back is not on too tight as this can lead to inflammation.......

failure to carry out proper after care procedures or seek medical advise could result in permanent damage to the ear and cartilage!

Keep using the hydrogen peroxide. Also use an antibiotic ointment or cream. If they get worse you will need to go to a doctor for some oral antibiotics. You did good taking out the earring. Also tell your parents
