Question:

I think my ex girlfriend is using my name for 1st driver on her insurance policy. Is there a way to find out?

I went on confused.com and tried to do some quotes and it told me there was already an account and that I could use the forgot password feature.

I tried this and it told me my mother maiden name was incorrect. That is a joke because I only ever use 2 different names for my mother maiden name in these kinds of situations. Either the name in full or short.

I also looked at the password clue and it had something in there my ex-girlfriend would typically say. I want to find out who she has insured her car with so I can call up the insurance company and cancel the policy. She has no right to be using my name behind my back for her benefit.

Help is appreciated.

  1. HELLO

UNLESS YOU KNOW HOW SHE SPELLS YOUR MOTHERS MAIDEN NAME AND IT IS DIFFERENT TO THE WAY YOU SPELL IT, TRY THAT.

CONTACT POLICE AND INFORM THEM YOU SUSPECT HER OF DRIVING WITH NO VALID INSURANCE AND EXPLAIN WHY.  IF YOU JUST SAID NO INSURANCE THEY WOULD CHECK  AND FIND INSURANCE BUT NOT KNOW IF IT WAS INSURED IN HER'S OR YOUR NAME. IF SHE HAS AN ACCIDENT AND LEAVES THE SCENE YOU WOULD SOON KNOW

IF SHE HAS I ASSUME SHE HAS DONE THIS TO REDUCE COST OF HER INSURANCE.

  2. that's insurance fraud, contact the insurance ombudsman and the police, and she's legally not insured

  3. If you're sure then get the old bill involved, this is not right at all.

  4. Just go on confused.com and get a new account using a different email address.

Or try logging on using her mothers maiden name.

As for  her using your name to get insurance . it is possibly fraud but it is her doing it and the insurance companies problem as you will not be driving the car I cannot see how it will disadvantage you.

PS you may be getting some no claims bonus for free

PSPS my ex is a total nutter ! !

  5. Wouldn't it cost her more to have 2 names on her policy?  So, why would she bother with that.  Yea, you will probably have to call her or one of her family members to find out.  Sorry.

  6. yes .... ask her ...

  7. wouldnt she have to also resgister the car in your name? try the DMV and call the Insurance company and ask. they have identity theft websites online...see if you can run a check thru them. i would prosecute her to the fullest extend of the law if it is her too! good luck!

  8. Try to contact the insurance company and ask if they already have a policy with your name, explain your worry and as some one said before if it is fraud then they will have to stop the policy.

  9. Find her insurance certificate! Then you will know,.

  10. You probably can't find out easily, but if she has added your details to the policy to make it cheaper then if she claims they will find out and it's going to put her right in it. You can simply deny everything.

  11. Tell her to let you know who it is, or you'll seek legal help to find out. that's not on!!!!
