  1. okay first, take the contaminated fish out and put it in a separate container. it may have already contaminated the other fish tho so keep watch on then too. change the water in the uncontaminated fishes fish tank and then watch them continuously. if they also have ich then the other contaminated fish with the ich can be put in the same tank. after you settle that, you can add medicines but follow the instructions carefully. take out any fish that are uncontaminated wen using medications. also take out your carbon filter. itll mess up with the medicine and clean the tank which means adding the medicine will be useless. always keep watch of each of the fishes and ask a fish specialist if you want more answers. Good luck!

  2. I have used quick cure in the past with great success.  Be aware it has methylene blue in it so it can partially die the silicon, but it works the best in my opinion.

Do a 25 percent water change and siphon the gravel before you treat the tank.

    good luck

  3. Salt is fine for goldfish, just make sure its PLAIN with no prussate ingredients or iodine, and add it slowly to 1T per gallon.

Ich rarely kills fish alone. The fish may also have a bacterial infection if they are getting one form of sickness in your tank. If the fish only has white spots on its gills, then its not ich at all, it breeding spots.

  4. it doesnt harm them by ich away at walmart it works reallyu good with goldfish

  5. You are right no salt for goldfish.  The myth about salt is it kills parasites, in fact it does but cannot be administered to fresh water fish in the proper quantities that will actually kill the parasite and not the fish.  (Salt dips).  Leave the salt out of the tank.  DO NOT RAISE the temperatures either.  Liquid ich meds work best and won't hurt your fish.  Treat immediately and treat the entire tank.  Do not remove any fish.

Read the instructions since each med is different.  You will need to remove the carbon filter pad if you are using one.

Treatment may last up to or over 7 days.  Treat immediately.  It may also ask for you to do a water change.  Remember no more than 25% then treat.

Salt in an aquarium forces fish to increase mucas production therefore increasing the slime coat.  This is stressful for the fish while it is building.  Doing that now would stress your fish out further causing the ich infection to spread more rapidly not kill it.  Salt in a goldfish or koi tank or pond causes bloat and swimbladder problems.  Never add salt to goldfish tanks.
