  1. try giving him a sand bath u can buy a bag from a petshop for £1 that will get rid of mites or the petshop should have a treatment about £5

  2. Your other guinea pigs likely already have them if they're living in the same cage, they just haven't scratched themselves to the point of scabbing yet.

Pet store treatments often don't work well, I'd recommend seeing a vet. This will also ensure that you KNOW it's mites, and not something else. Costs depend on the vet, the medicine is usually only about $15, but office visits vary from $20-$60 usually.

  3. Guinea pigs have bald spots behind their ears. It's most likely that if she is with other guinea pigs they have it too. Does she have white flakes around the scab or on her fur too?

Mites are easy to treat. Buy ivermectin, it's easy to use, not expensive, and it works (personal experience with my pigs).

    Good luck!

  4. if she is only scratching once in a while then that is fine but if she scratches all the time she has mites.  all guinea pigs have bald stop behind there ears and if the hair is black were her black spot is then that is also normal cause there skin is normally the same color as the hair on it. and yes if she had mites then of course they would just hop on to the other guinea pigs

it usually coast around $5 - $10 depending on how much you buy

  5. most guinea pigs have bald patches behind their ears!

  6. Well you could take her too a local vet... Try bathing it... Ihave listed a informational website....
