i think she may be over weight and sick. she never exercises on her wheel she just eats and sleeps so i reduced her amount of food but she's still MUCH chubbier than she used to be. and i don't know if she's drooling or if she's storing water in her mouth. because when i hold her, her mouth is ALWAYS wet even though i NEVER see her drink water, and plus also when i play with her there's always water or i don't even know (its not pee i know that's for sure). plz help?! i don't want her to be dying and me not even knowing.

  1. hava loooooooooooong talk w/hammy. Obesity runs wild in this country like a roach roller skating in any restaurant down south.

take hammy by the paw[or claw?]. Gaze into hammy's eyes. Be compassionate, and  let her KNOW how you feel. Tell her you care deeply for her and your concerned about her inhaling her kibbles and bits.

  2. I'm VERY sorry to say this but it sounds like your hamster's time has come to an end. Most hamsters get really lazy when they are about to pass away, and sometimes they get in denial about death (strange but true). So they try eating a lot and storing water.

OR there could be the option that she has a bit of a cold and is too sick to do anything. Like humans, when hamsters are sick they feel weak and tired and we either have a BIG appetite or a SMALL appetite. She may also be trying to maintain her fluids by drinking a lot of water and because of that she accidentally urinates on you even though you claim it isn't urine. (It probably has less of an odor due to many reasons).

I'm not much af a veterinarian but I've had many hamsters throughout my life. My biggest recommendation to do is to take her to a professional to see what's really going on.

    GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES

  3. What is your problem, do you think your hamster is there solely for the purpose of running on some wheel that gets him no where for your entertainment.

  4. i suggest taking her to the vet

  5. Drooling & wetness in the mouth of hamsters can be caused by overgrown front teeth. The incisor (front, gnawing) teeth grow continuously for the life of the hamster. Misalignment of either the upper or lower incisors because of previous injury, abscess formation or malnutrition may result in overgrowth of one or more of the teeth. Initial signs of this problem are lethargy and drooling.

Please take her to a vet immediately to carefully trim the overgrown incisors. Antibiotics might be prescribed because of the high probability of infection following this type of injury. Periodic trimming of the incisors is usually necessary for the remainder of the hamster's life.

Once the hamster's teeth become alright, she will become more active and then will start losing weight, so take her to the vet right away.

  6. How old is she, unfortunately hamsters don't live very long. The average life of a hamster is about 1 year and that is the AVERAGE
