When they start pulling away from you in the ways you are talking about, then yes there is a problem, he may not be cheating but something is going on and you both need to sit down some place neutral and discuss it. Communication is the key and if he will not sit down and talk about what is going then you really do have problems. But confront him, don't beat around the bush, either way it will hurt, but you will be better off knowing then being the last one to know. Now make sure that something is really going on and that you are not just having a rough spot in your relationship. Make sure his actions are not tied into his work, family, money or friends or religion or anything that can cause people to withdraw, because once you start in with the cheating business, you can not take  it back and it opens alot of doors that you can not close.
