I think my old 401k has the wrong ssn. how do i find it so i can roll over into he right account.?

  1. Check with the former employer for info on your old 401K.  You have receive info when you left that company on how to rollover your 401K.

    You should be getting regular statements for this account.  Or at least you should have some statements which will tell you where the account is.


  2. How long did you have this 401k? Didn't you keep any paperwork connected to it? Did you get it from your bank or your employer?

  3. See your human resources at your place of employment or your financial institution so that they may correct your social.

  4. FIrst, look for old statements. Call the 1(800) number and explain your situation.  You willl have to send them a correct W-9 to verify your SSN.  Then you can do the rollover.  No Statements - then call the HR department at your previous employer and they will put you in contact with the adminstrator of the 401(k) plan.  Send a W-9 form to fix it.
