I think my piercing is infected...?

i've had my lip piercing for around 9 months, and it has been fine - i keep it clean, the ring is not too big or whatever and it seems ok. the last couple of days it has been hurting and swelling slightly and yesterday i noticed that some of the scar tissue has been pushed out by the swelling (it kindof looks like a white lump) and is surrounded by a thin red ring. i woke up and it was hurting really bad, so i put some ice on it and it helped a bit. it doesnt look too bad, but it still worries me. any help?

you should go to a doctor....this is the best thing you can do
