I think my relatives are spying on us!?

Yeah, um I think they are spying on us and eavesdropping on our conversations every so often. Is there any cheap device they sell out there like a white noise generator, or similar that can block our conversations from going to their listening devices when they are parked at the next block from our house? How can I catch them doing it?

  1. They probably are. Best thing to do is start a fake conversation. One of my step-cousins was the nosiest jacko that I know. So, I started a conversation with my sister-in-law that when uncle so and so dies, we will be free from his step kids forever. A week later his mother calls up and asks about it.

  2. 30$ for a white noise machine & say something so crazy the will have to gossip & it will get back around.

  3. If you see them parked on the next block and they have no reason to be there, i.e. no friends or relatives in that area, you would have reason to assume they're spying on you.  They must have planted a bug in your apartment or house and need to be that close to receive the signal.

One way to interfere with them hearing you is to turn on a radio or TV.  It doesn't have to be loud, just a normal level.  But then sit close together and talk quietly amongst yourselves.  They shouldn't be able to pick out your quiet conversation over the other audio.  Many bugs transmit on standard FM radio frequencies.  Try tuning an FM radio across the entire band and see if you notice any places that you hear something strange from the radio.  If you do, turn the volume up.  If it's hearing something from your house or apartment you'll get a loud feedback squeal.  You can also do a thorough "cleaning" of you place.  Pay special attention to rooms you sit and talk in.  Look under tables, in lamps, bookshelves, etc.  Unless they had a profession install something it shouldn't be too hard to find a small thing that you don't recognize or looks out of place.  If you have a landline phone look in it.  Also check any smoke alarms.  If that doesn't work get a professional in to do a sweep for bugs.  If he finds something you'll have a better idea of what to look for and where if it happens again.

If you find something, don't let your relatives into your apartment or home when you're not there and stay with them when they are there.  Have the locks changed if you have to.  Don't let them out of your sight.

  4. It's bad when people listen in on others conversations. If you have nothing to hide there should be no problem. I could care less what others hear me say. I have nothing to hide. They would be stupid to spy on you unless they are worried.

  5. why don't you just confront them about it
