Question:

I think my rundll32.exe is a virus, what should I do?

I'm pretty sure I have a virus. No matter what steps I take or programs I attempt to download to "cleanse" Windows I get the following link that basically says Windows does not recognize this file.

http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xml/redir.asp?EXT=exe

I've been on Yahoo and Google for the better part of 2 hours trying to find some solutions. The only thing that I haven't tried is to reinstall Windows. Should I and how do I do this? I have the restore CDs, but what's the process? Will I lose everything and then have to reinstall all my programs?

FYI: anything that I attempt to open/download concerning Windows results in: File cannot be found. Also, I'm attending college and taking a mix of on-line and face2face classes so I really need to fix this problem ASAP. School starts a little over one week.

Thanks!
