I think my second ear piercing is infected?

well, i got my second holes in february 07.

i kept the starter earrings in for 8 weeks, like i was supposed to, and then i took them out for a while and they closed.

so i repierced them myself. (they weren't TOTALLY closed but it was enough to hurt like a b****)

my left ear got infected, but with time and the stuff they give you to clean your piercings, it healed.

i've been wearing these starter earrings for about a year now, only taking them off two or three times.

well recently i took them out to put new ones in. there was nasty green stuff on them when i looked at them. but then i put them back in because they're the most comfortable.

well now i think the one that was infected last year is infected again because it's (kinda gross) like crusty in the back... and ummm it's like green again.

i'm not allergic to the gold but idk what's happening.

it doesn't hurt but this is seriously wrong.

help?

I think you need to clean them everyday at least morning and night,make sure you clean your ear and the earrings with the antiseptic that they gave you when you 1st got them done.

I have lots of piercings, and out of all of them the stupid ear ones got infected! Go to the doc's and get it sorted, I think they will give you  a cream. But definitely gt it sorted out...NOW! do not leave it.

I suggest you bathe it in dettol until the infection has gone it could be certain grades of gold as they come in grades like 9ct- 18ct/ 22ct /24 ct the best is 24ct as that is pure gold 18/22 ct is not to bad  but 9ct is gold but mixed with other metals and not very good quality its to soft.

well i get the green stuff too. It's nothing bad. It happens to a lot of people. If it bugs you take the earrings out and clean around the piercing site. The infection could be because you got it pierced with a gun... it is a blunt (even though it looks sharp) piece of metal forcing it's way through your ear. And there is no way to fully sterilize the earring.  You probably want to go to a doctor if it has been bugging you for a long amount of time.
